What is wrong with my timepiece?
What is a movement maintenance and overhaul and why does my timepiece need one?
Over time the lubrication of the movement dries and as a result the performance of the watch will suffer. Regular servicing of the movement ensures that it remains well lubricated, any worn parts are replaced and that the watch performs accurately. The watch is then fitted with new seals, new crown and water-resistance tested.
We recommend that your watch should be serviced at least every 2½ to 3 years.
Why does my automatic timepiece stop after not wearing my timepiece for a while?
An Automatic is wound by the active movement of the wearers wrist. The longer the watch is worn, the more energy it will store. An automatic watch should be worn actively and continuously for at least 12 hours a day. If the wearer is inactive or takes the watch off regularly, the 42 hour power reserve will start to run down and eventually the watch will lose time.
To wind or restart your automatic
Carefully turn the crown away from you (clockwise) to wind up the movement. Between six and ten turns, depending on usage, i.e. more winds for less wear, should be sufficient.
